The Convergence of Finance and AI - BL MBA Lunch & Learn with Dr. Rainford Knight

This Lunch & Learn is for Babson Miami Blended Learning MBA students.

AI is changing how financial decisions get made, from forecasting and pricing to investing. Dr. Rainford Knight will explain where the two fields are meeting and what that means for the people working in them.

The session covers the AI taxonomy, why AI and finance are converging now, an AI startup thought experiment, and what the future of finance looks like when humans and AI work side by side. It runs as a 20-minute talk followed by 20 minutes of open Q&A.

About the speaker
Rainford Knight, PhD, is Chief Data Officer and Co-founder of PCP-AI Advisors, where he created the AI Readiness Assessment (AIRA) to help small and mid-size businesses measure their AI capability. Before that, he was Chief Digital Transformation Officer at GA Telesis, where he built the company's data science and AI function from scratch. He also co-founded Transparency Global, partnering with ARK Invest to launch the first transparency ETF. He taught finance for over two decades at Florida Atlantic University and the University of Miami, co-authored OpenStax's Principles of Finance textbook, and serves on the board of the CFA Society of South Florida.
